Shreemati Gangamma Veerappa Chiniwar Vidya Prasarak Trust was established in 1967 out of the benevolent donation given by Shreemati Gangamma Veerappa Chiniwar of Muddebihal. M.G.V.C college was established in 1968 with Arts faculty only. Gradually with the introduction of Commerce course in 1979 and Science Course in 1982. The college is located in Semi- urban area and educationally backward district of Vijayapur, caters mainly to the rural students. This college well known as MGVC has produced many eminent personalities not only in the field of science but also in literature, law, education, business etc. More than thousand students from all work of life learn in this college every year.
